What Are the C.H.A.N.G.E. Traits®?

By Cassandra Worthy

The C.H.A.N.G.E. Traits® are the six-part skill set CEG teaches within the Change Growth Accelerator™ (CGA™), paired with the Change Enthusiasm® mindset.

Each letter stands for a specific trait leaders build in order to move through change well and help others do the same.

The Six Traits

C - Communicative

Change breaks down fastest when communication stops or turns vague. This trait is about staying clear, honest, and consistent, especially when you don't have all the answers yet.

H - Hungry (Self-Development)

A hunger for growth. Leaders who treat change as a reason to develop themselves further, instead of a threat to defend against, move through it with more energy and less resistance. It is also about making time for self-care and encouraging well-being for yourself and others.

A - Authentic

Showing up as yourself, including the uncertainty, instead of performing confidence you don't feel. Authenticity is what makes the other traits credible instead of scripted.

N - Not Rigid (Agile)

The ability to adjust course without losing your footing. Change rarely goes according to plan, and rigidity is often what turns a manageable disruption into a real setback.

G - Gratitude

Finding what's actually worth appreciating inside a hard transition, not as forced positivity, but as a real practice that keeps people from getting stuck in what's being lost.

E - Empathetic

Recognizing and responding to how others feel during change, not just managing your own reaction to it. This is the trait that turns individual resilience into leadership.

Where the Traits Come From

The C.H.A.N.G.E. Traits® make up Day 2 of the CGA™ experience, "The Skillset," which follows Day 1's focus on mindset. Participants spend a full day working through each trait as its own learning module before applying all six to their own change story.

How the Traits Fit Into the Bigger Picture

The Change Enthusiasm® mindset and the C.H.A.N.G.E. Traits® skillset work as a pair. The mindset shifts how someone thinks about change, from a threat to an opportunity. The traits are the practical skillset that the mindset shift requires to actually hold up under pressure. CGA™ graduates leave with both, plus a personalized action plan for applying the traits in their own workplace.

If you're evaluating certification for yourself or your team, the Growth Accelerator™ page has the full two-day curriculum breakdown, including time commitment and what happens after certification.

Until we meet again, keep growing and keep rocking.
